Columbus, Ohio is home to some of the best racing in the country. The Columbus Motor Speedway and the American Motorcycle Hall of Fame offers visitors exciting racing action and a look into the history of motorcycle and stock car racing.

Columbus Motor Speedway. Opened to the public in 1946, the Columbus Motor Speedway hosted just one motorcycle race its first year. Motorcycles and roadsters raced at the speedway until 1950, when lights were installed for the speedway’s first stock car event.

As one of only two facilities in Ohio granted a NASCAR sanction, the Columbus Motor Speedway is a part of the Winston Racing Series, with racers competing in a yearly regional championship series. The speedway has hosted many famous names including Neal Sceva, Dick Freeman, Benny Parsons, Ralph O'Day, and many more.

The speedway boasts four convenient concession stands, all new grandstands, a state of the art lighting system, paved pit pads, and a large playground for the kids. Races run every Saturday night, April through September. www.columbusspeedway.com  [Top]

Motorcycle Hall of Fame. The AMA’s Motorcycle Hall of Fame presents rotating exhibits of interest to motorcyclists and the general public in its three galleries. Located at the American Motorcycle Association’s headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio the museum honors those who have contributed notably to the sport - from racers like Dick Mann to publishers like Floyd Clymer. www.motorcyclemuseum.org
